Research Papers.....READ BELOW

You must have THREE direct quotations. In the text of your paper, I will see these six symbols:
" "

" "

Seek Purdue OWL for help.

Look at the "MLA sample paper" online. Author of the sample paper is Elizabeth Angeli.

If you want to see your score on the Noodle Tools part of your paper, check the rubric that I shared with you at the beginning of the year. You NT work is 25% of the research paper score.

Please come to tutorial with any questions you may have. A few minutes go a long way.

REGULAR ROUGH DRAFT
Rough draft must contain the following:
  • Clear argument statement
  • Some words for each bucket (support sections)
  • Minimum number of words for rough draft: 200 words
  • Five sources in the Works Cited section
  • Five in-text citations linked to the five sources.
  • HEADINGS for each bucket (support section)

HONORS ROUGH DRAFT
Rough draft must contain the following:
  • Clear argument statement
  • Some words for each bucket (support sections)
  • Minimum number of words for rough draft: 250 words
  • Five sources in the Works Cited section
  • Five in-text citations linked to the five sources.
  • HEADINGS for each bucket (support section)

LATE PENALTIES
At the beginning of the year, you read and signed the syllabus. That document includes deadline rules for the research papers. A late penalty applies.
Excerpt from syllabus:
20% - Projects/Papers
You will submit one argument essay per quarter. The papers will be graded using the same standards that are applied to your English papers. Late submissions lose five points for each day late. Once you have submitted your research paper on time, you may re-submit your paper multiple times in order to maximize your grade. You will receive the top score you earn. The grades on multiple submissions will not be averaged. You may re-submit as often as you like until one week before the end of the quarter.
